The KHS Ayuyu Battalion, MHS Dolphin Battalion, and SSHS Manta Ray Battalion worked with CNMI Navy Marine Corps cadets to clear Mount Carmel Cemetery.

About 200 cadets participated in the early morning activity on October 15, collecting over 200 bags of garbage, debris, dead flowers and candles over the course of three hours.

Every year, rain or shine, the cadets prepare the cemetery for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1st and 2nd.

Also participating in this year’s cleanup was Mount Carmel Cathedral Director Doris Sanchez, who provided supplies, food and water for the cadets.

As we honor those who have passed away, we can do better for ourselves as a community by properly disposing of trash and debris.

By partnering with community members and local organizations, we can make a meaningful difference in our society.
