Aberdeen, Mississippi (WTVA) — Aberdeen’s Youth Council of Mayors has done its part to make the community better.
Mayor Charles Scott and some student volunteers went to Oddfellows Cemetery on Saturday morning to pick up trash and debris on the east side of the yard. Scott says the project was meant to teach fairness to students.
“It’s about giving back without asking for value,” says Scott. “But it creates so much value because it allows you to give back to the community and when you leave there you know you are giving back.”
Members of the Mayor’s Youth Council also volunteered at the local food pantry located in Loebs & Fishes, Aberdeen.
